Floral Evening Gown for Baby Alive

This is an evening gown I made for Baby Alive.
To make this dress, I used the original dress worn by BA Real Surprises 2013
as the sewing pattern.

As you can see, I cut out the pattern.

Then I cut the fabric based on the pattern sheet.
It became like this.

I sew the edge to avoid hairy edge later.

This is the close-up picture of how I finished the edge of the cut out fabric.

After attaching (sewing) the shoulder parts, I sew some ribbon tape as sleeves.

Then, the bodice became like this.

Now, it is time to show how to make its skirt.

I folded part by part and lightly stitched the skirting.

It looks like a skirt on its own and ready to attach to the bodice.

This is how I did it.

Tadaaaa! The final result.
It even fits the biggest BA doll My Baby Alive 2010.

It looks good on smaller BA dolls like Wets 'n Wiggles 2010 and Snackin' Lily 2015 too.

Baby Alive Water leaks

I have encountered this kind of experience many times
with my old Baby Alive dolls.
The same thing usually happens.
The water or doll food is coming out from certain parts of the Baby Alive body
after or while feeding.
The leaks usually come from underarms, legs, necks and speaker holes.

When anything like this happens, I will open the doll and see what's inside.
Normally, I will see the broken tube here and there, hence the leakage.

Please read my previous post (link) if you would like to see
what I usually do to fix this problem.

Fixing Baby Alive hair

Maintaining doll hair is tedious...
but fixing it is way more outrageous.

As a child play with the doll,
its hair becomes frizzier and frizzier over time.
So how can we fix it?

All you need is PATIENCE.
Yes, that's all.
And a comb comes second.

Just kidding...

You have to wash the hair using any kind of shampoo.
Don't forget to use a conditioner too.

For the frizziest hair ever, you can use any fabric softener to soften the hair.
Simply leave the hair in a bowl of fabric softener and water
for about one hour or more.

Let the doll hair dry using a towel.
You can use a fan for air-drying but never use a hair-dryer.

After that, use any types of comb or brush available near you...
and start untangle the hair.
Be patient, you'll be done soon.

Tadaaa!!!

You can style the hair according to your preferences.
