My princess theme bedroom

My room in the UK

**************
This is how the room looked like when I first arrived....
It was early January 2015.

**********
Then, after three hours of unpacking my stuff....it became like this.
Well, of course, I brought a lot of stuff from Malaysia.
...just in case.

**********
Then, after a month...it started to be like below.

Ducks in the mud cake

It is a store-bought chocolate moist cake.
I bought it at Sainsbury's for only GBP2.65.
Then I made these little ducks from a ready-made fondant.

This cake was made for my housemate.

Happy Birthday!

Rapunzel Tower

It's my Rapunzel Tower...

I purchased it from eBay.
Well, I'm too big too play with it.
It's only for room decoration purposes.
That's why there's no Rapunzel doll in it.
But it has Pascal though.

....The end...

Egg Sandwich

This is so good!

Simply make scrambled egg, then add some mayonnaise.
Spread it on toast. Add some sliced tomato and cucumber.
Put shredded lettuce too and a slice of cheese.
There you go!
A perfect egg sandwich ready, to start a lovely day...

I love burned toast...
The aroma is NEVER worth to die for...because you want to live long to eat this.
It is tastier this way!!!

Lontong

Lontong is a very delicious Malay cuisine.
There's mixed vegetable curry, spicy anchovies, boiled eggs, dried/shredded beef and compact rice.
They are all good to be combined in a bowl.
It is normally served to guests during festive season...like Eid.

Well, I don' have a recipe for this because my housemate made it.
All I know is to eat it.
Delicious!!!

Happy Eid 2015

Selamat Hari Raya
Maaf Zahir & Batin
17 July 2015
1 Syawal 1436

This is first Eid without my family...

"Tiada takbir di pagi raya
Ku teringat kampung halaman
Aku di perantauan
Tak berdaya menahan sebak

Tiada takbir di pagi raya
Ku rindukan ibu di sana
Keluarga sanak saudara
Hanya doa kukirim..."

Lirik/lagu asal: Raihan dan Nowseeheart -Satu Pagi di Hari Raya

Blooming roses...

They are blooming great...
More and more everyday....
They smell nice too...
I feel like sitting next to the plant all day long.
But...of course I can't do that.
It's someone's house...someone I don't know at all....haha

I captured them every time I passed by...
So here are the pictures...
You can see how rapidly the bloom...

25/6/2015

2/6/2015

3/6/2015

8/6/2015

There are plenty more at other houses too.
With weird colours that I can't even name them.
I will try to capture them...for sure!
Bye now!

My Neighbour's Roses

I wish I could have something like this in my backyard!!!

The roses are bigger than the size of my palm.
They smell nice too, seriously!

I can't wait to see these roses next week.
I am sure they will bloom beautifully.

Well, actually I have a rose plant in my backyard.
It is still young to have flowers.
It is at the corner, on your left.
You can barely see it because it is indeed too small...haha.

Bye now!

Garden Slugs and Snails

Garden slugs and snails are torturous...
They are like everywhere....
creeping actively at nights
eating all our small plants and vegetables.

This is a slug I found in my garden this morning.

and this is Mr.Snail

These are their cousins....

Do you still remember my flower bed?
The picture below was taken last month.

See what happened after a few days.
Only two to three days, the flowers gone.
After that, the snails and slugs
started to enjoy the leaves too.

One week later, the leaves were all gone.
They ate all my French Marigold leaves.

Thank God that they didn't touch the Lavender and Red Begonia.

Well, there are actually many ways to kill slugs.

1) Salt is the best when you want to kill slugs, but it is also hazardous to grow plants. So, we must not sprinkle the salt near our plants. Salt is also famous in killing weeds. I've tried many times and it works wonderfully well.

2) Other than using salt, slug repellent beads are effective if you sprinkle them regularly near your plants. I am not sure whether it really kills slugs.

3) The other solution is to use instant coffee powder. I've recently read an article that studies show that slugs hate caffeine. So simply sprinkle coffee powder (which of course contains caffeine) around our plants. I have tried but I am not sure whether this method is really effective because we don't know how much coffee powder is enough.

So, good luck with your garden slugs and snails!!!

Cleaning the overgrown backyard

People use their spare time differently.
I choose to use my spare time with the nature.
It can ease my pain (caused by thinking too much..haha).
It can release my stress....after a tiring day working on my thesis.
It is like entering a different world of green
where it is only me and nature.

I don't use grass mower because it will be so tedious.
It stays in the shed.
I usually use a pair of hedge shears to cut the grass instead.
It was bought weeks ago for only GBP5.00.

Next time, I will turn it into a garden.

Flower bedding

To celebrate this Spring, it's time to make a few changes.
Well, I started with flower bedding
just right next to the door to enter my house.

I bought some flower plants for flower bedding.
French Marigold, Wild Lavender and Red Begonia

Well, at least, it is better than before.
Now, with this, the house looks like a human is its owner.
