As one of the decoration on the table, this is made for a buddy of mine, for her wedding day.

It will be framed and put on the 'guest book' table.

It is to welcome the guests while they are signing the guest book.

I made something even more suitable for her.

Using felt cloth, I sewed her name on it....

Wedding Idea: Wishing Tree VS Guest Book

My friend has been asking me about the most suitable guest book for her upcoming wedding. As I've volunteered myself to help, I had to do some research on this matter..hahaha.

Well, I suggest a Wishing Tree instead..... It looks stunning in certain ways...

A Wishing Tree shall be more memorable and relevant to keep for the rest of our live.

It is soooo unique to let every guest to write a wish (ucapan) on a paper for the brides.

Then, the paper is hung on any branch of an artificial tree... Wow!!!

We can prepare the cards ourselves....

This one is so beautiful!

Well, it can be placed on every dining table...

But, you may need a lot of wishing trees....haha

If you are not using a wishing tree, you might love this guest book!!!

It's quite a fascinating guest book....with envelops inside. The guests will write on the card and put it inside the envelop. That's cool!

This is another example.....just use the cards and put them in a bowl. Wow! Cool!

This method is easier...if you are out of time to prepare.

Wishing Tree is NOT a Wish Tree. A wish tree is for religious purposes, and a particular real tree is used!!! People hang written notes of their wishes, hoping that their GOD will fulfill what they are wishing for. On the other hand, wishing tree is a tree where visitors/guests of a particular event/ceremony can hang their written notes, as memos for certain people that may the event/ceremony may concern.

Smurf World #4: Jokey

Jokey Smurf

Jokey is one of the characters in The Smurf series, comics and movie. Jokey is commonly seen with his exploding giftbox. He laughs a lot. He loves to play around with the other smurfs. His well-known pranks always bring laughter to others.

Jokey appears like the other common Smurf but is always holding a yellow giftbox. So, to make Jokey, you can use a common Smurf (without accessories), which you can buy him at any plush stores for approximately RM18.00 to RM10.00.

All we need to do is making a giftbox. That's all!

Cut three pieces of yellow felt cloth to create a cube box.

Imagine you are making a box, that's all.

Sew the edges neatly.

Flip the box outside-in. Then, fill in the pillow fiber.

Use a piece of straight-cut felt cloth to make a ribbon.

Here he is!!!

Meet my Smurfette!

She was the first female Smurf in Smurf Village.

Then, Sassette Smurfling was created by the other Smurflings to serve Smurfette.

I bought Smurfette for RM18.00 at Pasar Tani Shah Alam. However, I was not satisfied with her eyes, too small.

Smurfette should have two big cutey-eyes so she would look beautifully pretty!

Plus, Smurfette originally should have amazing blonde hair.

So, I created her custom-made eyes so she would become cuter, somehow. I used white and black felt cloth to make the eyes.

Next, I cut some yellow felt cloth to add Smurfette some hair.

So, here she comes!!!!

Smurf World #2: Gutsy

Gutsy Smurf
It is an exclusive Smurf character that only appears in the The Smurfs movie 2011. He was created for the film and does not appear in the comics or in The Smurfs cartoon series.

I didn't buy a ready-made Gutsy for it is too expensive (RM46.00).

I bought a common Smurf instead (for only RM18.00), and made some changes for him.

This is the most common Smurf you can buy at any plush stores for approximately RM18.00 to RM10.00. It appears without a single accessory.

Using brown plush cloth, make eye-brows for the smurf. Glue them on.

You can buy the brown plush cloth at KAMDAR.

Cut a piece of brown plush cloth to make Gutsy's sideburns.

Gutsy Smurf must look like, somehow, Elvis Presley.

Create a Scottish costume for Gutsy. A skirt, belt, brown pouch/bag and sling cloth.

Brown felt cloth can be used to make Gutsy's bag and belt.

Cut a piece of blue plush cloth to make a pluffy ball.

Attach the pluffy ball to the very end/top of Gutsy's hat.

Gutsy Smurf!!! Here you are!!!!

Smurf World #1: My Smurfs Family

I currently fall in love with The Smurfs...they are such cute little blue creatures.

Meet my lovely smurfs! I smurfly love them...

These are amongst the main characters in The Smurfs. In The Smurf comic, we have Papa Smurfs, 99 male Smurfs, 2 female Smurfs (Smurfette and Sassette), Grandpa Smurf, Granny Smurf and 3 Smurflings.

Clumsy Smurf is the most common smurf character you can get at any plush store. He represents the most simple smurf among all, without a single accesories. Each smurf has his/her own characteristics, with significant personality. They can be distinguished by different accessories they are holding. FYI, Clumsy Smurf is the cheapest smurf at market. I bought Clumsy for RM18.00 only. You are lucky enough to get the lower price...down to RM15.00 to RM10.00, could be. It depends on how you bargain with the store owner.

The more accessories a smurf has, the more expensive its price is.

An exclusive smurf like Gutsy Smurf is hardly seen at any plush stores. He could be sold at RM46.00 **nett. Well, I'm not joking. I didn't buy Gutsy. I made Gutsy's costume myself instead. I use a common smurf and put some sideburns on his face. I will show you how I made Gutsy in the next post.

Another example: Vanity Smurf is the only smurf who wears a flower on his hat and is always with his mighty mirror.

That's why I made my smurfs' accessories myself..hahaha.

I bought Vanity for RM18.00, without a mirror. So, I created Vanity's mirror myself.

I'll show you how I made other accessories for the other smurfs (Jokey, Smurfette, Brainy and Gutsy Smurf) using felt cloth, okay!

My Panda can see the world!

My Fat Panda didn't have eyes before....so I decided to give him eyes, after one year..haha.

I created Fat Panda's eyes using felt cloth.

I didn't have white felt cloth, so I was using blue one instead.

Sew them on!!! Yeay!!! He can see me now!!!

Scary huh???!!!

Hahaha...the inner eyes should be smaller. ~~Tak Jadi...Panda cacat~~ Never mind!

It's my mate's wedding. They had their solemnization ceremony just before last Ramadhan. This is their second dinner.....for the groom's side. She's gorgeous!!! Indeed!

She is walking in, with her husband...lovely path!

The ceremony was pleasantly organised....

I could feel the warmth and bless in everyone's face.

She looks stunning in this dress...

This is the doorgift....there's a small Arabian sweet cake inside.

Effy's Engagement: Simple but memorable

I was told that Effy (my lovely sweet friend) made all the engagement gifts and the setting herself.

I simply love her handy-flowers. Oh, dear! Beautiful! The roses bouquet was surprisingly presented by her man on that wonderful day.

She's a heavenly pretty girl....the shot is nice too!

I was one of the committee members for the wedding (26/02/2011) at Dewan SIRIM Section 2, Shah Alam. I was doing my internship / practical training at that time. The bridegroom is a son to a very kind, soft-spoken yet humble man I've ever know, Allahyarham Dato' Yahya, the President of SIRIM BERHAD at that moment.

It was a pleasant view of white and peach. The decorations were magnificent too!
The use of fresh flowers was quite impressive as it made the ceremony alive!

A few days ago, my friends and I went to Plaza Masalam to have dinner. Alia, the best-friend of mine kindly put the dinner on her treat....Thank you, love! It was a pleasant dinner because Hasinah, Masitah and Ain were there too, for we could share stories and pains.

As usual, it is accustomed that I have to buy DVDs whenever I come here. I don't prefer downloading via internet because....hehehe. "Waiting is painful"...haha. I only watched fantasy movies. Real stories seem boring to me. In my opinion, we can always experience what they show in real movie but we impossibly encounter the moments in fantasy movie....like a magical world.

Harry Potter (Deathly Hallows)

I've watched it in cinema months ago, but still I bought it for a collection.

I haven't watched this one yet. They say it's great.... But I say they are adorable!

I think, I'm going to search for the smurfs plush at Uptown then...

I love this movie....wonderful fantasy but exciting! Everything seems so real!

Kimchi (Malaysian style)

I tried to make Kimchi.... It is a traditional fermented Korean dish made of vegetables with the mix of seasonings. Chinese cabbages are usually used in making Kimchi. It can be consumed raw and is commonly added to soups or other Korean dishes.

STEPS / INGREDIENTS:

1) Half-cut a Chinese cabbage and break it into two

2) Soak the cabbage in salty water

3) Rub every layer well

4) Toss

5) Shred one Chinese pear and 2 carrots (if you don't eat radish)

6) Chilli powder

7) Fish sauce and Tuna in water

8) Mix 5-10 spoonful chilli powder with the shredded Chinese pear and carrots

9) Mix the ingredients well with 5-10 spoonful of fish sauce and half of tin Tuna in water.

10) Apply the ingredients into the cabbage, spread the seasoning in every layer.

11) Keep it in a jar and keep it refrigerated.

Kimchi is ready to be eaten anytime!

Wedding of Blue and White

I was invited to a wedding last Sunday (20/11/2011) at Banting. The bride is a daughter to a very kind yet cool man I've ever know, Encik Rahim, a Registerar of Academy of Language Studies UiTM.

It was a pleasant view of blue and white. The food was nice too!

Next to pelamin is the newly-weds dining table.

The decorations were impressive! They were not using flowers but fruits.

This is the scenery of the dining tents.

The food was tasty too. They were served in buffet.

They served nasi minyak set [ayam masak merah (fried chicken in spicy sauce), acar timun (cucumber salad), curry, papadom (soybean snacks)], nasi putih (plain rice), mushroom in black pepper sauce, kuih-muih (cakes, cupcakes, pudding) and three types of drinks (cendol, green banana and asam boi).

This is one of the two goody bags I got.

The below bag contains a small plaque as shown in the next picture (the newly weds' names are stated on it, as well as the wedding date). There are also sweets and one Apollo cake inside.

The second goody bag contains a bottle of local carbonated drink and keropok sira (sweet fish snacks). Simple stuff but I found them very cool!!!

Thanks for those who are aware that I didn't visit the blogland for quite some time. Yes, I've told you that I had engaged some work somewhere over the rainbow...hehe. Missing you so much, here I am. I am sorry that I can't quickly make your doodles...however, I am trying to do it little by little. Be patient, okay?? hihiks...

A few crafters have asked me many many times about my latest crafts.... Of course, I continuously create something new to ease my hectic and tiring life. For now, let's just enjoy the making of roses bouquet I made 2 weeks ago for my friend.

The making of felt roses bouquet:

1) You need a hair-net, then fill it with pillow fiber.

2) Stab 4 disposal forks into the fiber. Bind the forks together using a rubber band.

3) Do some stitching, so that the fiber will not come out from the net.

4) Cut straight-cut-pieces of red felt cloth.

5)Roll them, and glue the very end using UHU glue.

6) Make a lot of these ya!!!

7)Using a glue gun, paste all the roses on the hairnet.

8)You can have more than one colour of roses.

9) Glue a few felt leaves to cover the rest of the empty space

10) Decorate the bouquet with white laces.

11) Beautify the laces by adding some ribbons...just tie them on.

10) Done!!!! You can give it to anyone you want!

He chose the baju kurung with my mother,so I could wear during my convocation, as a surprise.

Alhamdulillah, I received Vice's Chancellor's Award last 23rd October 2011 during my convocation.

It is a huge present for his birthday. Thank you for raising me up to more than I could be....

Abah, you're the greatest that nobody can compare! =)

Why don't we remember our early childhood?

I've read several articles about this. I realize that nobody has memories from very early childhood because it is believed that during that age, the brain doesn't function in a complex process yet. The products of this process is then called memories. However, young children do remember facts (what is taught or told) within a period of time. Some articles I've read say, children start to forget their childhood when they reach age 4 to 6. After that age, they start to have new memories captured along their journey of life. That's why we can still vividly describe our first day going to school (if it was the most memorable event for you!), but we don't remember our very first birthday party (1-year-old birthday party) ....hihiks.

Note: I am the girl who is standing at the back....waiting for the cake to be cut. I loved cakes when I was a kid and now still do. My mother told me that I would cry if I wasn't the first person who got the first piece of cake during birthday parties.

We will only know the past by asking those who were there....

I'm not a baby...BUT I bought an infant cereal for breakfast. I like it! Supposedly, I went to supermarket (The Store) to buy Koko Crunch. But I ended up buying this too...hihiks.

It's delicious! Trust me! It was made from wheat and honey... Simply pour fresh milk into a bowl, and put 5 tablespoons of CERELAC. Here your morning breakfast is ready!

..........Tips to Achieve a Dream.........

1) Mindset: Everybody has a dream, regardless an achievable dream or an impossible dream. You should have at least a dream (whatever it is....including to be Aaron Aziz's wife or Nora Elena's husband...whatever it may). So, free to have whatever dream in mind and jot it down in a book like mine. I've jotted down all my dreams since I was 7 years old, so I can pursue them soon. Why??? Because....Dreams are to inspire you, though you'll be laughed by others. - Impian adalah pendorong anda, walaupun ia tidak bermakna apa-apa buat orang lain.

***I will share the contents next time....hihiks.

2) Passion: Put some interest on your dream. Love it and adore it! When you have a dream, you should have at least some efforts to make your dream come true. It might sound ridiculous sometimes, but simply go for it..... For example, assuming you really want to have a unique haircut like David Arumugam (Alley Cats). For sure, your mother will not allow you to do so. BUT.....if you really want it, you should convince your mother that you will definitely look more handsome in that style....hihiks. Yes, there are lots of advantages to have this kind of haircut. You don't even have to brush your hair....save time, save cost! hehe.... Be brave to tell the truth, or you will just lose..... - Tanpa keberanian, mimpi takkan jadi kenyataan.

3) Patience: You have to be patient in all circumstances that may occur. In achieving a dream, it won't always be a colourful and smooth journey like this.....

Sometimes, you have to go through hardships and difficulties like this......

However, these experiences and moments will make you stronger...... Where there's a will, there's a way...(di mana ada kemahuan, di situ ada jalan). Go for it!!!! Life is boring without experiences and moments..... - Kehidupan itu mebosankan tanpa pengalaman dan kenangan.

You are what you think you are.....may your dreams come true!

Thank you for that. These are my suggestions:

1) Beautiful is subjective....different people think differently. My blog might look beautiful to you but vise-verse to others. This means, decorate your blog beautifully according to your perception, not in regards of others. -hiaslah mengikut apa yang anda rasakan indah

2) I don't think my blog is beautiful, as compared to many other blogs. However, I try to be as simple as I can in presenting this blog. Choose the right fonts and sizes of the words. As long as readability comes in, the widgets and accessories can come later. -Asalkan blog mudah dibaca, perhiasan blog yang lain juga akan membantu.

3) My blog did not use the extravagance widgets or accessories. It's enough to have a simple header, tab buttons, background, side-bar filled with badges, a shoutbox, archieve and some other common tools. My blog is actually very simple, it uses the simplest template provided by Blogger. But if you are about to decorate it professionally, do visit them for further information: LYSSA FAIZUREEN and I.Z.A.R.A. -Blog Ninie hanya menggunakan template Blogger yang biasa

A month before Syawal, Mama and her youngest daughter, Atien are chatting in a living room.

(sad song)

Mama : Atien, time run very fast right? (Coughing) We just left one month before

Syawal.

Atien : Yes, Mama. I miss the moment when Abah was here with us. He was usually

busy making lemang and dodol on the day before Hari Raya, right Mama?

Mama : Yeah….(gigling)..no matter what, he is still right here with us, looking down at

us from there and hoping that our family will stay happy like usual.

Atien : Hurm…(sigh)…. As happy as usual huh?

Suddenly, Along and Angah come into the living room. (Loud bang of the door)

Along : Ma! What is this? I’ve heard that you are going to sell the land away.

No..no…no! It is supposed to be mine!

Angah : Excuse me….hello! It is going to be mine okay! You have already got this

house. So, I am taking the land! It is mine!

Along : Wait! I am the eldest! Please show your respect!

Angah : Go to hell with your respect!

Atien : Along! Angah! Can’t you please calm down? Mama is still here with us. Shame

on both of you! There is no such will at all! I am sure that Mama have not written

or stated anything about this? Right ma???

Angah : Huh, whatever! But, it is possible to say that the land is already given to you.

Am I talking the right thing, Atien?

Mama : Oh, My Lord! Along…Angah…stop it! How could….you behave like this! Is

this how you repay me as your own mother?

Along : Oh, come on Mama…. Stop acting like this! I know that you will give more

privilege to Atien. Are you thinking the same way, Angah?

Angah : Of course……

Atien : Along! Angah! You are too much!

Angah : Huh! I am fed up with all of this. (Angah walks away)

Along : Me too! I wish I wasn't born in this family!

Atien : Along!

Along walks away and closes the door…..(Loud bang of the door)….

Atien : How could them……..(crying and sobbing)

Mama : Oh, God! (She fells down on the floor-impact body heavy)

Atien : Mama! What’s wrong with you? Wake up Mama! Say something ma! Mama!

Help me! Anyone ? Please!? Somebody,help me! Help! (Crying)

A day before Hari Raya.

Atien : Mama, Mama…. I have cooked some special chicken porridge for

you. Let’s have some, okay? Tomorrow is Hari Raya. You need strength to

celebrate Raya. We can go the mosque and perform Raya prayer together. You

have been laying down on bed for a month. I am worry about you.

Mama : Hurm….Raya. What’s the point of celebrating Raya to me right now Atien …

There is no happiness in our family and no point for us to celebrate Raya this

year.

Atien : Ma……please! Don’t say such thing to me. No matter what you still have me.

(sobbing)

Mama : Atien, I am so sorry my dear. I can’t give any happiness to you since Abah

passed away.

Atien : Mama,don’t say that Mama! Don’t Mama! I am happy to have you as my

mother. I’ll be alone if you leave me.

Mama : Thank you, sayang. (Coughing) Hopefully, before I close my eyes…….

I can see all of us reunite and be happy as usual.

Atien : Mama….shhhhhh (hiss sound)… Don’t talk anymore. Now, have a proper

sleep. Get rest and wake up peacefully tomorrow, okay?

Mama : Atien my dear…. If I am not longer alive, do take care of yourself (coughing). I

love you so much.

Atien : I love you too, Mama. Good night.

(The call of Takbir Raya - Lagu sedih "Bila tiba Hari raya...semua insan bergembira..tetapi bagiku...hanyalah kesedihan..yang menyelubungi hidup"....lalala)

Next morning….

Atien : (twisting the door knob) Assalamualaikum Mama! Wake up Mama…. Today

is Raya. I have cooked many delicious meals for you. I’m sure you will like it.

Mama : Atien…………

Atien : Oh,my God! What is happening?(clicking the switch of lamp)

Mama : Atien……..where are both your sisters? (coughing)

Atien : (crying) Mama…..Please…..they are not here.

Door knob is twisted.

Along : (calling) Mama! We are here!

Angah : We are so sorry! (sobbing) We are home, Mama!

Mama : (coughing) I am glad that you are all here right now…(coughing). Alhamdulillah…..

Along : Mama…sorry, Mama! I didn’t mean to be rude to you. Please forgive me…..

Angah : Me too, Mama.

Atien : Along…Angah… I am grateful that both of you are here.

Mama : Oh my dear….(coughing) I don’t think that I am able to see more of you all

shortly. I really hope that three of you can spend more time together.

Along : Mama….please don’t say that Ma..

Angah : Mama…….(sobbing) We still need you!

Mama : I have written my will and left it to Tok Penghulu’ wife. Please stop fighting

my dear daughters…..

Atien : (sobbing) Mama…please Mama. I really need you….always.

Mama : Atien, thank you for always standing by my side…(coughing)

Atien : Mama!!! There is nothing can compare to what you have done to us. You have

given your heart and soul.

Mama : Along…Angah…

Along and Angah: Yes,mama…

Mama : Remember this! No matter what has happened, we are still

in a family.

Daughters: (crying)

Mama : I love you…..Allah……..

Daughters: Mama!!!!!!!!!!!

Tok Penghulu’s Wife: My dear Along, Angah and Atien. I hope after your mother’s death the three of you can cope with your life normally and happily. If you have any problem come and see me anytime okay. What have written here is from your mother directly. She wrote that the house will belong to three of you and the land will be a gift to our village. And I have decided that with this land we can build a new mosque. Before I forget she has left a letter for all of you here.

I am happy when you say you're satified with this caricature.

What a relief.....hihiks.

I spent 30 minutes drawing, 5 minutes for double-drawing, 10 minutes scanning and uploading, 45 minutes photoshop flaws removing, and 1 hour photoshop editing/colouring and 1 hour uploading/emailing/making entry...because internet was soooo slow.... DONE!!!!

Doodle =
An unfocused drawing especially when you're listening to/doing something else. Nowadays, people are doodling using various softwares like Photoshop, Paint, and Photoscape....the doodles made from such softwares are supposed to be called e-doodle. (sama je sebenarnya...panggil 'doodle' je pon orang tau....)

Caricature =
A focused drawing/portrait to symbolize/impersonate someone based on his/her visual likeness by exaggerating it. (Macam karikatur gambar Nabil pelawak tu, org lukis dia telinga besar....kalu Zizan plak hidung besar..ha..karikatur la tu...membesar2 kan benda fizikal seseorang..hehe)
